Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft flying near a popular coastal shoreline suddenly began spiraling wildly, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos posted on the internet capture the chopper beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders said five individuals were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
